Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from employees and employers, answered directly.

Does my employer see my individual financial data?

No — never. Every number your employer sees is aggregated across your whole team before it's ever displayed. There is no view anywhere in the product, including for NeuralTax staff, that shows one employee's individual income, expenses, or savings through the employer side. To make this real rather than just a promise, the employer dashboard also won't show any aggregate statistics at all until at least 5 employees have logged a check-in — below that, an "average" would be mathematically identical to one person's raw numbers, so we simply don't display anything until there's real safety in numbers.

What exactly does my employer see, then?

Team-wide trends only — things like the average savings rate across everyone who's checked in, what percentage have health or life insurance, and how engagement is trending over time. Never a name, an email, or any number tied to one specific person.

What is the Freedom Number?

It's the amount of money that, once saved and invested, could cover your living expenses indefinitely without you needing to work — calculated from your own real spending, not a generic formula. It updates every 6 months as your actual expenses change.

Once I reach my Freedom Number, what actually happens?

In practice, you wouldn't withdraw it as a lump sum — you'd typically set up a Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) from your investments, paying out a fixed monthly amount much like a salary. This is often guided by the "4% rule" — withdrawing around 4% of your total corpus per year — though your real safe withdrawal rate depends on your specific investments and is worth discussing with a qualified financial advisor as you approach this milestone.

Is this financial advice?

No. NeuralTax provides guidance and planning tools based on the information you provide, not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. NeuralTax is not a registered investment advisor. For decisions specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.

How is my password and data kept secure?

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, a modern, salted hashing algorithm — your actual password is never stored, and not even NeuralTax can see it. Data is transmitted and stored using encryption and access controls, and handled in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — email team@getneuraltax.com and we'll remove your data from our active systems. Backup copies, which exist purely for disaster recovery, are automatically deleted within 30 days.

Is there any cost to me as an employee?

No. NeuralTax is provided to you as a benefit through your employer, at no cost to you personally.

Is the tax filing feature available yet?

Not yet — it's currently in development and shown as "Coming Soon." When live, it will be bundled with your existing NeuralTax access at no extra cost.

How much does NeuralTax cost for employers?

Pricing depends on team size and is discussed directly so we can tailor it to your company — reach out via the Contact page or book a short call to get exact numbers.
