NeuralTax Technologies Private Limited (CIN: U63119UP2026PTC247714) ("NeuralTax", "we", "us", "our") operates a financial wellness platform for salaried employees in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This policy is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India.

NeuralTax is designed to help individuals better understand their financial wellbeing while giving them full control over their personal data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use NeuralTax:

Account information: your email address, a securely hashed password, and optionally your name and birth year. We deliberately ask only for your birth year rather than your full date of birth, to minimise the personal data we hold while still being able to calculate your age automatically each month.
Financial information you provide: monthly income, expenses, savings, current cash and investment balances, EPF/NPS balance, and insurance status. This data is self-reported by you — we do not access your bank accounts, PAN, or any government database unless you separately use our tax filing feature, which requires explicit document upload.
Employer code: if your employer has subscribed to NeuralTax, the code you enter links your account to your employer for aggregate, anonymous reporting purposes only.
Usage data: which features you use and when, to help us improve the product. This may include page visits, login timestamps, and feature interactions within the platform. We do not monitor any of your activity outside NeuralTax.

2. How We Use Your Information

To calculate your personal Financial Health Score, Freedom Number, and monthly guidance.
To send you monthly reminder emails about logging your financial data.
To generate anonymous, aggregated workforce statistics for your employer (see Section 3 — we never share your individual data).
To improve and maintain the NeuralTax product.

What your employer can and cannot see:

Your employer can see anonymous, aggregated statistics about their workforce as a whole (for example, "62% of employees have a fully funded emergency fund"). Your employer cannot see your individual income, expenses, savings, score, or any personally identifiable financial data. There is no way for your employer to identify which data belongs to which employee.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

With your employer, in anonymous aggregate form only, as described above.
With trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform (for example, secure cloud data storage and email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and cannot use it for any other purpose.
If required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by trusted third-party service providers, protected with industry-standard security measures. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way cryptographic hashing and are never stored in plain text. Access to the underlying data is restricted to authorised NeuralTax personnel only.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

NeuralTax uses essential cookies or similar technologies (such as session tokens) to keep you securely logged in and to improve your experience on the platform. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

6. International Data Processing

Some of our service providers may process or store data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal financial data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

NeuralTax is intended for salaried employees aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of NeuralTax after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
